Meet Our Church Staff

We are a congregation led by dedicated and enthusiastic leaders welcoming all who want to be a part of a growing faith community. All baptized Christians are invited to share in Holy Communion offered regularly throughout the year.


Pastor Heather Sugden

Pastor Heather Sugden

The Reverend Heather Sugden is currently from Absecon, NJ where most recently she served as the part-time Pastor of Reformation Lutheran Church in Galloway and was a full time Chaplain at Atlantic Care, Mainland Hospital. Previously she had worked in hospice chaplaincy of AltantiCare and as part of the ELCA’s Division for Global Mission, she taught High School English in Namibia, South Africa.

She is dedicated to Pastoral visitations for the ill and homebound and has specific interests in growing the church community through Bible studies, stewardship and social events. Her experiences include working with community outreach programs to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Along with her husband and two children Pastor Sugden is involved in baseball, swimming, Girl Scouts and basketball.

On June 1st, we welcomed Pastor Sugden Redeemer’s sixth pastor in its almost 100 year existence.

I am Lisa Sheaffer, originally from Lancaster PA. I have been a Vineland resident for 20 years and have 3 children, Shane, Nicole and Kaitlyn plus one Grandson, Ace. My favorite pastimes are interior design, landscaping, kayaking, and Fridays off to enjoy watching my grandson. You have welcomed me as family here at Redeemer and look forward to many more years to come.


Teresa Minnix, Organist/Choir Director

Teresa Minnix, Organist/Choir Director

Teresa comes to Redeemer is an elementary school music teacher in Absecon and lives in Mays Landing. She has a long history of providing worship leadership in several Lutheran churches in southern New Jersey and has led choirs in Forked River, Manahawkin, Georgian Court College, Lacey Twp High School and the Kinstar International Bilingual School in Beijing, China. Most recently she was at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brant Beach, NJ.

She teaches piano in private homes and loves to direct bell choirs.

We welcome Teresa to Redeemer and look forward to sharing our faith and music with her.
